New peg loom design + selection of looms

The photo on the previous post is one of the new loom I asked dh to try and design, and hey presto there it is. It's great you can work with anything from dk and finer and it really is effective. The photo on this post is a selection of the looms that we make. That photo is from someone who has purchased three from us (also the lady who gave me the weaving loom) and she is really enjoying herself. She works with disabled people and they enjoy the looms aswell.

It's June already !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know where all the time goes. What with day to day things and then everything else we want to get done.................. I have been busy making rugs that have all been taken buy the local art gallery and they also asked for some of the looms i use to make the rugs. In fact things have gotten so busy with the loom making side of things ew have now set up a web site http://www.peglooms/. co.uk , we were constantly being contacted and getting messages passed via friends that we thought this was the best way to go. I must admit dh did most of the work on it as I am not computer literate to that extent. I've been asked to show a couple of people how to spin (?) and also to use the looms. The spinning has me a bit worried as I am VERY rusty.
I did have a lady from N.C.E come for four looms recently and she teaches felting and dyeing with natural dyes - I've already booked a place on both of her next courses, I have the fleece so I may as well use it. The weaving sticks that we make have been going really well and I'm so pleased that they are being bought buy teachers for their pupils, hopefully they will then get the bug and turn into our future knitters, spinners, weavers etc.
I have bought wool to make a pair of socks but as yet haven't managed to get them started.
Oooh I've also been given a small table weaving loom, it needs a little bit of tlc, but then I am going to play with that, I can't wait.
I didn't manage to get to the woolfest in Wales a few weeks ago but I've been told about something along similar lines, but major companies, in the Carmarthen area soon so I'm looking forward to that. If anyone knows about it please let me know.
Right, the grand prix is on and cups of tea are being called for, so of I go. I hope to keep this more upto date as I feel a bit like a naughty school girl who hasn't done her homework, lol.
Bye to all and keep working/playing with all those yarns, fleece etc.

OOOPPPSSS

I seem to have uploaded a photo of my grandson Kayden and also of the seat warmer I made for my dh out of fleece.

GETTING THERE

Well, my mother is still here so I'm not getting as much time on things as I need or want. I have managed to get dome wool/yarn prepared for other projects and I've also nearly finished a rug that has been on order for a few weeks (picture to come). I still haven't finished the wall hanging but I will get it done. Another thing I've been doing is knitting vases and pots to try and felt them, as yet I haven't done them but that is something that won't take much time or space. I seem to be spending loads of time making up loooms at the moment amongst everything else as they are growing inpopularity, the latest is a tiny one - 22cm approx - which my daughter is using on her college course and ofcourse all her friends want one. My dh is being kept busy aswell, if I am then he definitely is. I went to a craft fair at the weekend and htere were some lovely woven shrugs etc., yet another thing on the "to do" list.

I see "woolydoodles" has made some lovely socks, yet another thing for the list.

Tea is being called for so of I go.

Happy crafting to all and keep going it is good for the sanity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need more time

Well, on the wooly work front I haven't managed to get anything done recently. I have just finished a wall hanging - just needs a backing. I prepared loads of yarn to weave with but due to a phone call from my birth mother in Tasmania no work has been done. She is coming over on the 24th of this month so my work room has had to be emptied. I didn't realise i had that much stash, mind i still keep buying, lol.
I have been asked if i would like to join a craft group that exhibit their work and give demos, workshops etc.. I didn't think i was that good. Anyway it is too late for this year so i have a year in which to decide and make up enough pieces for an exhibition.....................
I'll get my dh to upload a picture of the hanging as soon as possible so you can give me your views, i really would like them, warts and all.
bye for now .

My first blog

This is all new to me. It was my dh's idea as he thinks people may be interested in the type of hobbies/crafts I like. So thanks to my daughter, Abi here it is.
I love most crafts but particularly knitting, weaving, sewing, spinning (when i have the room to bring my wheel down from the attic). I am now into making and using "peg looms". Then results are really quick to see and the finished item is so lovely and warm, thick.
